Merina J. Tacornal is an associate attorney who concentrates in Wills, Trusts, Estates, Probate, Guardianship, and Litigation in these fields, including Partition of Real Estate. Before being hired as an Associate, Merina worked for the firm as a Legal Assistant for eight years.

Merina graduated from Florida International University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Political Science with a minor in International Relations, and graduated with magna cum laude honors. After finishing her bachelor’s degree in two and a half years, she was admitted to St. Thomas University College of Law where she obtained a Juris Doctorate degree with cum laude honors.

During law school, Merina completed over 50 hours of pro bono work, where she assisted a Miami-Dade County Circuit Court Judge with family law proceedings, and volunteered with the Volunteered Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, which provides free income tax return preparation to those in need. She received the “Book Award,” earning the highest grade in her Essay Writing class.

Merina is a member of the Real Property, Probate & Trust Law, Elder Law, and Young Lawyers Sections of the Florida Bar.

She is conversational in Spanish.
